Hard Drive Temperature™can be configured
remotely on client computers. To do it, we recommend that you use
the following keys in the Windows registry.
ATTENTION! The Windows registry
is crucial for the normal functioning of the system that is why only
experienced users should modify it!
To make it easier, we recommend that you use the Hard Drive Temperature™ user interface to specify the necessary settings on one computer
and then just save the registry folder with those settings to a file. Afterwards
you will only have to import this file on client computers, for example, using
a logon script.
All the settings are stored in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PalickSoft\Salamander
These keys are related to the HDD Temperature service:
MaxTemp
The maximum hard disk temperature. Once it is exceeded, either a message window
is displayed, or a message is sent via the network or via e-mail depending
on the settings. The message window is displayed only if the user interface
is launched (when there is an icon with the disk temperature displayed in
the tray).
HibernateTemp
Once this temperature is exceeded, the computer is hibernated. The RAM contents
are saved to the hard disk and the computer is turned off to give the hard
disk time to cool off.
HibernateOnOverheat
Allow/Do not allow the computer to be hibernated when HibernateTemp is exceeded.
If this value is set to False, the computer will not be turned off even when
this temperature is exceeded.
SendToNetwork
The name of the computer on the network to send messages to once the maximum
hard disk temperature is exceeded.
SendToEmail
The e-mail address to send messages to once the maximum hard disk temperature
is exceeded.
smtpServer, smtpUser, smtpPass
The address, username and password for the smtp server used for sending e-mail.
TempPollPeriod
The period of requesting the hard disk temperature.
These keys are related only to the user interface:
